The incumbent leads the department in advancement of the nursing professional practice model by overseeing model infusion throughout program implementation. The incumbent frequently collaborates with nurse leaders, staff, and community to assess, plan and implement educational and program activities to meet identified needs using evidence based practice principles. He or she develops and uses appropriate evaluation systems to determine effectiveness of program activities. The position must have advanced adult education skills. The major challenge is to develop the staff using a variety of adult learning principles including didactic, self-directed and clinical modalities. The position requires outcome evaluation of these teaching and learning strategies. The incumbent participates in committees, task forces, meeting and activities to assist in the development of staff. Assumes responsibility to be a professional change agent. Contributes to nursing and the hospital through support of the organizations mission and values, strategic plan, educational efforts, research efforts, grant-funded efforts and leadership. The incumbent is a subject matter expert in advanced adult education skills. The major challenge is to develop the staff using a variety of adult learning principles including didactic, self-directed and clinical modalities. The position requires outcome evaluation of these teaching and learning strategies among Nurse Educators. This position does not provide patient care.
