Summary:

Presbyterian is seeking a dynamic and experienced Supervisor of Inpatient Rehabilitation Services to lead daily operations and clinical staff within our inpatient rehab unit. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, optimizing team performance, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities:

  • Provides clinical duties as a staff therapist
  • Direct supervision of rehab staff
  • Clinical resource for rehab services within PHS
  • Assists manager/leads staff meetings
  • Performs personnel management including but not limited to:
  • performance appraisals.
  • participating in the hiring process, on boarding and off boarding
  • Communicating with staff (i.e. rounding, posting of information, meetings), staff development and orientation of new employees, celebrations, recognition, coaching, counseling,
  • Staff and program development.
  • Provides and participates in effective departmental problem solving and troubleshooting
  • Establishes/maintains and assists manager in staffing patterns in order to maintain appropriate UOS / FTE and staff scheduling
  • Approval of requested time off
  • Facilitates customer related issues, including problem solving, complaint management, service recovery and complement entry.
  • Participates in departmental QM monitoring, and policy and procedure development/revision
  • Assists the manager with compliance with regulatory agencies (i.e. Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS, Department of Health, etc.)
  • Participation in committees as needed.
  • Assess needs and follow-through for supplies and equipment.
  • Keeps current with developments in the field of rehab services through participation in seminars, workshops, and/or review of publications.
  • Assists in developing and provides educational/preventative health programs and in-services for hospital employees, community members, and rehab student affiliates.
  • Consults and communications with medical staff and other healthcare providers on matters relating to rehabilitation services. Assists manager in interdisciplinary performance improvement teams.
  • Communicates and collaborates with rehab leadership team
  • Performs other functions as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology
  • NM PT/OT/ST license required. Masters or Doctorate level of education preferred. One year of clinical experience in a rehab department.
  • 3 or more years of relevant experience preferred.
