Job Description
The Meal Coordinator is responsible for planning, preparing, and serving quality meals that meet the standards and expectations of the older adult population within Sienna Crest Assisted Living, Inc. homes and assuring that the kitchen complies with all State Regulations.

Under the direction of the Manager, the Meal Coordinator is responsible for supervising the dietary and kitchen functions for the Home as follows:

Meal Planning
Follow the Corporate menu program established to meet the dietary needs of residents. Oversee the menu and cooking schedule to make sure that all kitchen staff are following the program. Ensure that all meal preparation is completed according to State regulations, Maintain all weekly menus for access by staff, residents, resident's families and state regulators. Maintain corporate charts and records of home dietary programs. Maintain complete recipe system for access by all staff, as required.
Grocery Management:
Weekly review of current food inventory and prepare weekly food orders and place with appropriate food vendors. Purchase necessary food items, not covered under ordered products from local food vendor, Prepare weekly accounting reports of all purchases.
Meal Preparation:
Ensure the proper handling and utilization of all foods to prevent contamination. Prepare all food according to the "approved" menu in a safe and sanitary manner. Prepare meals for Home in a timely manner, insuring that food has good taste, smell and appearance, which will encourage residents to eat appropriately. Responsible for the preparation of breakfast, main (noon) meal and completion of prep work for evening meal, allowing evening staff to "warm and serve" the meal.
