Description
A Brief Overview Reporting to the Director of Flight Operations, the Senior Captain shall have command of and overall responsibility for the aircraft's operation, safety, and security, as well as the safety of all crew members, passengers, and cargo on board the aircraft. The senior captain performs duties and responsibilities as a pilot in command (PIC), exercising final authority for and responsibility for the aircraft in support of company goals. The senior Captain shall adjust and apply all risk assessments for flights and conditions. All ties will be performed per Federal Aviation Regulations, Flight Department, and Hunt Companies policies, practices, and procedures. What you will do
- Works within Hunt Flyers to maintain a safety culture with efficient procedures that support customer service and company policies and procedures.
- The captain retains the final authority for the safe operation of the aircraft. The captain directs the activities of the flight crew, ensuring a full understanding of their duties and responsibilities.
- Ensures that the assigned aircraft is airworthy and that all proper documents are on board the aircraft.
- Makes decisions as necessary to the flight's start, delay, or cancellation, or deviation from a planned destination when operating conditions dictate.
- Provides briefing on the purpose of the flight, weather, operating procedures and any special instructions, and plans flight assignments
- Inspects aircraft for defects before boarding and ensures that all weight distributions and fuel amounts comply with regulations.
- Prepares or supervises the preparation of a flight plan, considering factors such as aircraft performance, weight and balance, route of flight, altitude, terrain, weather, range, adequate facilities, NOTAMS, and navigational aids.
- Ensures that weather and aircraft performance conditions can be met before departure. Ensures that the aircraft's weight and balance form/manifest is properly completed.
- Reports all known or suspected FAA violations or safety concerns promptly to the Flight Department Manager or Chief Pilot.
- Ensures that crewmembers brief all passengers with the appropriate briefing for each phase of flight.
- Ensures that emergency equipment, as well as provisions for passenger comfort are on board, and ensures that all cargo is properly secured.
- Ensures the completion of flight logs and other company tracking forms for each flight.
- Ensures that all maintenance discrepancies are passed on to the maintenance personnel and that maintenance is alerted to the aircraft's current status.
- This position requires driving for the Company using either 1) a Company vehicle, at any frequency from Rarely to Constantly; or, 2) a Personal or Rental vehicle to conduct Company business more than 50% of the time to perform work duties.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- Must have logged a minimum of 5000 hours of total pilot flight time, 2500 hours of multiengine turbine time Required
- experience operating large-cabin aircraft preferred. Preferred
- prior experience in aircraft requiring two pilots (Crew Concept). Required
- Zero FAA accidents, incidents, or violations. Preferred
- Must possess excellent CRM skills
- Must be able to successfully complete a type rating course for the current company aircraft.
- Has achieved the highest level of subject-matter expertise in the career field.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all contacts.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Able to communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
- Requires a self-motivated, professional, customer service team player who pays close attention to detail and who can prioritize in a fast-moving environment.
- Reliable and dependable attendance and punctuality are essential for this position.
- Safety standards are of utmost importance.
- DL NUMBER - Driver's License, Valid and in State Required
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certification with Airplane, Multiengine Land Rating Required
- First Class Medical Certificate Required
- Restricted Radiotelephone Operators Permit - FCC Required
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Preferred
- First Aid CPR AED Preferred
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds overhead
