Overview

The Director, Marketing, U.S. Region is a senior commercial leader responsible for defining and executing the regional marketing strategy to drive profitable growth and market leadership across key segments. This role leads a highperforming team of approximately 10 product, field, and growth marketing professionals and works crossfunctionally with Sales, Global Marketing, and Segment teams to translate market insight into impactful commercial execution.

The Director owns the annual marketing plan and budget and is accountable for demand generation, commercial launch readiness, sales enablement, and ROIdriven marketing investments. This role ensures rapid adoption of new and existing products by aligning downstream marketing execution with product development and commercial priorities, continuously optimizing the marketing mix through performance metrics and KPIs.

As a key member of the U.S. Regional Leadership Team, the Director provides forwardlooking market and competitive intelligence, supports forecasting across capital and consumables, and shapes regional strategy through deep customer understanding. This leader develops and inspires talent, fosters a growth mindset, and drives results through strong people leadership, strategic thinking, and close collaboration across a matrixed organization.



Responsibilities

    Responsible for developing the regional annual Marketing plans to drive profitable growth across the key market areas and segments and lead a team of ~10 commercial marketing associates (product, field, and growth) in execution of marketing plans and tactics. Specific examples include:
    • Creation of annual marketing plan and supporting annual budget preparation.
    • Collaboration with Segment and WW Marketing to develop Commercial Launch readiness plans
    • Working with Sales to develop Sales Training plans
    • Working with WW Marketing, Sales and the Segments to develop and drive demand generation activities
    • Managing and executing marketing expenses to drive maximum ROI
  • Downstream from product development, drive collaboration with counterparts in commercial organization to encourage rapid adoption of Waters Biosciences products and solutions and expand customer utilization of existing products and solutions through demand generation.
  • Evaluate marketing activities and refine plan according to relevant metrics/KPIs to ensure consistent delivery of marketing mix.
  • Demonstrate leadership excellence by engaging and developing a team of highly capable associates. Empower teams to make decisions and drive innovation.
  • Be a team player in the US region Leadership team: constructively challenge where appropriate and be a positive force in supporting business outcomes.
  • Responsible for supporting forecasting across capital equipment and consumables.
  • On going market updates related to funding conditions, regional buying trends, and competitive analysis.


Qualifications

  • Commercial marketing leader with experience in the biosciences / cell analysis industry
  • 8-10 years of leadership experience in marketing, R&D, academic research, or scientific application within the healthcare industry
  • Experience in the medical device global healthcare industry and markets are required
  • Strong marketing acumen with classical marketing knowledge and successful growth marketing outcomes
  • Exceptional influencing, negotiating and presentation skills
  • Solid understanding of the flow cytometry and single cell markets
  • Prior experience of leading large marketing organizations
  • MBA and or PhD in Biological Sciences preferred
  • Remote based - California preferred
