**Position is Remote in Huntsville, AL or Chesapeake, VA** JOB SUMMARY:

The Payroll Clerk performs processing, entry, and verification of payroll data to ensure timely and accurate payroll distribution across government and commercial labor categories. This position supports labor coding, PTO tracking, and benefits deductions per federal and organizational policy. The Payroll Clerk must ensure all documentation is compliant with SCA wage determinations, DCAA audit requirements, and VSolvit internal controls.

As with any position, additional expectations exist. Some of these include, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisor(s), staying focused on the assigned tasks, and completing other tasks as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Input timecard and labor data into payroll and HRIS systems
  • Support processing of semi-monthly and off-cycle payrolls
  • Ensure compliance with labor categories, job codes, and billing structure
  • Validate PTO accruals, deductions, and SCA-required fringe benefits
  • Reconcile payroll variances, missing time entries, and exception reports
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding timekeeping or pay
  • Support payroll audits and labor compliance reviews
  • Maintain secure documentation and filing in accordance with DCAA standards

QUALIFICATIONS:

Basic:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years' experience in payroll processing or timekeeping systems
  • Working knowledge of payroll software and Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with wage and hour compliance
  • Familiarity with federal and state tax compliance
  • U.S. Citizenship

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting payroll in a government contractor environment
  • Familiarity with ADP and JAMIS
  • Knowledge of SCA and Fair Labor Standards Act requirements
  • Familiarity with DCAA regulations
