A Brief Overview
Under the direct supervision of an RN, the Nursing Tech participates in the delivery of nursing care to patients. This position exists within the content of a time-limited student experience. This position can also be filled by a graduate nurse who is a current employee, unsuccessful in passing licensure examination required by the state board and is waiting to retest. Works within the Clinical Nursing area in a support role, assisting nursing staff in the provision of care to pediatric patients and their families.

What you will do
  • Under RN supervision, assists in the provision of care to patients and families. Follows Nursing Process to deliver safe care: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation.
  • Responds promptly and positively to patients, families, associates, and all others in a respectful, courteous, and confidential manner.
  • Follows hospital and departmental procedures and policies, including but not limited to patient safety, mandatory education, confidentiality and attendance.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform technical skills and use monitoring equipment, under direct supervision of RN/Preceptor.
  • Demonstrates high standards of professionalism by maintaining a professional image in all he/she does.
  • Identifies own learning needs and obtains necessary education to meet requirements of position.
  • Responsible for efficient and cost effective utilization of hospital resources.
Education Qualifications
  • High School Diploma / GED Required
  • Technical Diploma Enrollment in a Nursing Program Required
  • Technical Diploma Nursing Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) - issued through on organization that requires a hands-on instructor lead psychomotor skills verification (ex. American Heart Association or Red Cross). - within 3 months - Required

SALARY RANGE:

$20.55 - $25.69 Hourly

Salary ranges are shown for full-time jobs. If you're working part-time, your pay will be adjusted accordingly.
