Hexcel is currently seeking a Customer Business Team Director to create and drive strategic business development in Hexcel's Commercial Aerospace business. Joining this team means you will propel your career into the strategic world of sales, activating your inner entrepreneur and get a chance to work on the most exciting and cutting-edge projects in the industry.

This position is remote, preferably located near Salt Lake City, UT, Seattle, WA, Charleston, SC, or St Louis, MO areas, and close to a major airport.

Summary pay range (for WA applicants): $147,095 - $252,163 annual salary or hourly wage rate. Eligible for cash bonus and long-term incentive.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

  • Building strategic relationships at the customer's executive level. Regularly connect to foster open communication and alignment of mutual goals and ensure CBT is developing maintaining positive customer relations at the appropriate levels with customer's organization.
  • By example, ensuring internal and external communications reflect how different departments and functional groups need to interact to support customer needs.
  • Setting and communicating sales and growth strategies for assigned business segments (with new and existing customers), establish negotiation strategy for the team and set priorities and budget allocations accordingly. Working with team to build a pursuit pipeline and driving hunter philosophy for new business
  • Analyzing customer activity and forward-looking opportunities: adjust account load within team and recommend resource adjustments
  • Identifying potential higher level (multi market segments, multiple customer sites, global, etc.) LTA opportunities that leverage Hexcel technologies across multiple businesses, locations and/ or product lines.
  • Participating as needed in contract negotiations primarily in large, complex, multi-site, multi-product contracts. Directly leading the most complex and strategically critical customer LTA's.
  • Supporting team by removing barriers and driving action plans through the organization.
  • Delegating actions and empower team members in alignment with skill sets, experience and capabilities. Coaching and developing members of the team. Providing timely feedback to team. Driving forecast and customer demand knowledge and accountability.
  • Developing a bench and upward opportunity for the team. Managing and reviewing progress and driving improvements. Holding weekly and monthly team meetings to drive correct behavior
  • Creating an environment that embraces change and adopts innovation for improvements to the sales process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in materials science, aerospace, chemical or mechanical engineering, or a business/technical degree from a four-year college or university and 10+ years' experience in technical sales are required
  • Sound technical understanding of composite materials; sales or related experience is a must and successful candidate has an established network in the aerospace composite materials community.
  • Strong communications, interpersonal, planning, organizational, and decision-making skills. Comprehensive business proposal writing experience preferred. Able to tailor communications effectively to both internal and external audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team; ability to manage/influence crossfunctionally.
  • Ability to develop and lead strategic negotiations.
  • Must possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to handle conflicting priorities.
  • AdvancedIT application skills including MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel (advanced), PowerPoint, Teams). Experience using CRM software with a preference towards D365 Sales. Experience understanding ERP/MRP systems with a preference towards MS Apriso and D365 F&O.
  • Self-starter, motivated, hardworking, works well in team environment with a passion for seeking new opportunities and a results-oriented approach.
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time - domestic (mostly) and limited international.
