Job Description

The Operations Manager is a high-impact leader who oversees daily business activities and resource allocation while championing a culture of safety to ensure all organizational goals are met without compromising the well-being of the workforce or regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that supervisors are aware of and adhere to plant safety rules and regulations. Works with the supervisors to develop a safety culture with zero accidents/incidents.
  • Coordinate production activities with warehouse, procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of machines and equipment.
  • Conduct Daily Production meetings.
  • Review and analyze quality, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems.
  • Compiles distributes, evaluates, and actions production metrics.
  • Measure and develop plans for reductions in UPOH
  • Manage Direct Labor to budget parameters.
  • Develop and revise production schedules and priorities as a result of customer requirements, equipment failure, or operating problems.
  • Consult with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products.
  • Lead the identification of continuous improvements to production processes, utilizing Six Sigma and lean manufacturing techniques
  • Ensures process corrective actions are addressed in a timely manner and are effective, including conducting audits of effectiveness.
  • Ensure that equipment is maintained and operated in a safe manner.
  • Maintain a clean environment that enhances plant safety.
  • Conduct 5S audits.
  • Ensure 5S audit actions are addressed in a timely manner and are effective.
  • Ensure that employees know and understand customer and quality requirements and standards.
  • Set the quality direction to maintain production throughput while meeting/ exceeding quality requirements.
  • Maintain employee awareness and adherence to ISO standards and procedures.
  • Lead successful output of site production operations and achievement of operational goals.
  • Set goals for employees throughout and/or department standards.
  • Evaluate and provide training as needed, setting in place a long-term training strategy.
  • Evaluate equipment needs and propose changes to meet site objectives.
  • Assign employees to work schedules, and work centers, and plan appropriate levels based on production needs and capacity.
  • Troubleshoot processes and/or procedures.
  • Review site operations goals with department employees.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for direct reports in a timely manner. Recommend increases in compensation in accordance with pre-determined guidelines.
  • Ensures that all aspects of the Quality Policy and Objectives, as well as OSHA rules and regulations, are understood and enacted. Participate in and satisfactorily complete all required training programs for the assigned position.
  • Perform other duties assigned within the scope of responsibility and the requirements of the job.

Qualifications

Required

  • Associates Degree in Manufacturing, Business Management or a related degree.
  • Five (5) years of related work experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Overall understanding of Operations related budget components.

Preferred

  • Microsoft Office and Google Workspace familiarty.
  • Six Sigma Certification

Disclosure Statement:

Thenational pay range for this role is $87,200 to $139,600 annually. The payrange may beslightly lower or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program. RRD offers benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, disability insurance, 401(k) with match, life insurance and other voluntary supplemental insurance coverages, plus tuition assistance,maternity leave, adoption assistance, and employer/partner discounts.
