Overview
Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Acquisition Analyst to support Special Operations Forces Acquisition, Technology and Logistics' (SOF AT&L) Program Executive Office for Rotary Wing (PEO-RW). PEO-RW equips Army Special Operations Aviation Command and the 160th SOAR with advanced rotary-wing aircraft, mission equipment, and training systems to maintain decisive overmatch in contested environments. Focused on readiness, rapid technology integration, and lifecycle sustainment, PEO-RW executes a balanced acquisition approach that recapitalizes airframes, integrates next-generation sensors and survivability/lethality upgrades, and prepares the force for future SOF-modified vertical lift platforms. Through its product offices, PEO-RW continuously fields hardware and software improvements across the SOF helicopter fleet and associated simulators, ensuring aircrews can train and operate with the most capable and reliable systems available. This is a full-time opportunity located at MacDill AFB, FL
Responsibilities
Maintain detailed understanding of SOF Rotary Wing aircraft, mission equipment, and operating environment;
- Interact with SOF aircrews to assist the PEO in understanding key user requirements and capability issues;
- Develop, coordinate, and execute rapid prototyping of leading edge technologies (avionics, communications, materials, and survivability equipment) to assess ability to imrove SOF mission execution;
- Lead coordination with the Intelligence community to aid the Rotary Wing Enterprise in understanding trends in threat capability and implementation;
- Ensure program compliance with organizational guidance and regulatory requirements;
- Interpret regulations and directives to determine impact on programs;
- Coordinate across the USSOCOM staff to resolve HQ issues relating to program execution
- Routinely brief senior leaders within USSOCOM and the SOF enterprise on program status, issues, and recommended courses of action
- Develop elements of program acquisition strategies to transition leading edge technologies to programs of record;
- Keep program information current and organize data to submit to management for decision making
- Prepare reports and briefings on program status, policies and procedures, in support of acquisition program milestones
- Analyze effectiveness and efficiency of program; develop recommendations to improve program operations.
- Answer data calls and inquiries on program policies and procedures
- Participate in requirements development process in support of Senior Managers and Government counterparts.
- Monitor programs to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Manage program cost, schedule, performance, and risks in accordance to policies and procedures; formulate proposed mitigations as necessary.
- Research ways to eliminate program bottlenecks and barriers to production; support government counterparts in development of solutions to program issues.
Qualifications
Minimum Experience: Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Clearance: Must possess and maintain a TS w/SCI eligibility Certifications: DAWIA Practitioner Equivalency IAW the PWS (DAWIA level II equivalent), or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline Years of Experience: Minimum of 12 years experience in DoD Acquisition Programs to include:
- Five (5) years military helicopter pilot experience;
- Five (5) years DoD acquisition program management experience;
- Five (5) years experience in intelligence gathering, analysis, and reporting;
- Working knowledge of the Defense Acquisition System as directed by DoD Instruction 5000.02;
- Working knowledge of the Defense Acquisition Framework process;
- Working knowledge of the defense industrial base and evolving technologies aplicable to SOF rotary wing aircraft;
