Summary:

The Vice President, PDS Analytics is the senior executive responsible for analytics strategy, governance, and performance enablement across Presbyterian's integrated delivery network, including hospitals, acute services, medical group, and PresNow operations. Reporting to the Chief Analytics Officer, this leader balances long-term vision with disciplined execution to ensure analytics directly improve quality, access, flow, financial performance, and member experience.

This role leads strategy and governance for key clinical, operational, and financial metrics across the delivery system. The VP ensures that critical data are standardized, trusted, and consistently used in executive and frontline decision-making. The leader builds and develops a highly capable analytics team and embeds agile, product-oriented delivery practices to accelerate solution deployment and measurable impact.

The successful candidate brings deep experience leading analytics within a hospital and ambulatory environment of similar scale and complexity. This leader partners effectively with physicians, hospital executives, service line leaders, and operational teams, living Presbyterian's mission to improve the health of the patients, members, and communities we serve. Work Arrangement:

*Remote: Open to applicants in the United States, excluding CA, IL, ND, NY, OH, WA, and WY.

*Hybrid: For individuals within 60 miles of Albuquerque, in-office presence is required Tuesday through Thursday.

Job Description:

Delivery Analytics Strategy and Governance

  • Define and execute the enterprise strategy for delivery analytics across acute, ambulatory, medical group, and PresNow settings.
  • Establish governance for key clinical, operational, access, productivity, and financial metrics, ensuring standardized definitions, transparency, and accountability.
  • Shift the organization from reactive reporting to proactive insight generation that supports performance improvement and strategic growth.
  • Implement structured operating cadences for executive reviews and service line performance management.
  • Partner closely with Health Plan, Population Health, and Analytics & AI Ecosystem leaders to deliver integrated, end-to-end solutions.

Quality, Patient Safety, and Clinical Performance

  • Lead analytics supporting quality improvement, patient safety, benchmarking, and regulatory performance.
  • Develop predictive models and operational dashboards addressing length of stay, readmissions, safety indicators, and transition-of-care performance.
  • Leverage EPIC functionality and related tools to deliver point-of-care insights and improve clinical workflow efficiency.
  • Support operations command center initiatives, transfer optimization, and throughput management.

Access, Flow, and Operational Efficiency

  • Drive analytics to improve patient access, scheduling, wait times, and throughput across inpatient and ambulatory settings.
  • Provide actionable insights on admissions, discharges, visits, service line volumes, referral patterns, and ambulatory expansion.
  • Support hospital productivity, PresNow performance, call center operations, and utilization management.
  • Improve cycle times and reduce bottlenecks through real-time operational visibility.

Financial, Service Line, and Revenue Performance

  • Oversee analytics for service line profitability, contribution margin, net revenue tracking, and HDAA performance.
  • Analyze payer mix, reimbursement trends, rate changes, cost pressures, and charge management.
  • Partner with Finance and Revenue Cycle leadership to improve net revenue realization, denial management, and cost discipline.
  • Support physician compensation modeling, productivity tracking, and retention analytics.
  • Provide analytics to inform capital expansion planning and strategic investment decisions.

Population Health and Value-Based Care Integration

  • Align delivery analytics with total cost of care, access, and population health priorities.
  • Conduct risk stratification and utilization analyses to understand patient populations accessing Presbyterian facilities.
  • Enable value-based care performance measurement and cost management across service lines.
  • Integrate pharmacy analytics and utilization insights into delivery performance strategies.

Agile Delivery, Process Discipline, and Self-Service Enablement

  • Lead agile and product-based delivery models within the delivery analytics organization.
  • Establish disciplined intake, prioritization, and solution deployment processes.
  • Expand governed self-service analytics using EPIC and enterprise tools.
  • Ensure high data quality, strong governance, and metric integrity across all reporting environments.
  • Partner with the Analytics and AI Ecosystem team to ensure platform capabilities support delivery priorities.

Leadership and Executive Partnership

  • Build and lead a high-performing team of clinical, operational, and financial analytics leaders.
  • Develop Directors and managers through coaching, succession planning, and structured capability development.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to hospital presidents, physician executives, service line leaders, and operational leadership.
  • Communicate complex analytic insights in clear, actionable terms for physicians and executives.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, operational accountability, and continuous improvement aligned with Presbyterian's mission and values.

Additional Job Description:

Education

Bachelor's degree required in Health Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Healthcare Informatics, Data Science, or related field.

Advanced clinical or business credentials preferred.

Experience

  • 15 or more years of progressive leadership experience in hospital and ambulatory analytics within a large health system or integrated delivery network.
  • Demonstrated leadership supporting hospital operations, medical group performance, and service line management.
  • Experience leveraging EPIC clinical and operational data environments. Prior experience with complex analytics, leveraging modern AI tools/agents to deliver insights.
  • Proven oversight of quality analytics, patient safety metrics, and regulatory reporting.
  • Strong background in financial analytics including service line profitability, net revenue tracking, payer mix analysis, and revenue cycle performance.
  • Experience enabling value-based care and population health initiatives within a provider setting.
  • Demonstrated success leading interdisciplinary analytics teams and partnering with physician and executive leadership.
