Job Summary: |
The Department of Otolaryngology is seeking a Healthcare Principal Professional to serve as a strategic leader and subject matter expert in clinical operations, patient access, revenue cycle performance, and service line growth across a multi-site care environment. In close partnership with physician and administrative leadership, this role drives optimization of clinic and operating room utilization, expansion of clinical programs, and alignment of operational and financial performance. The position leads the development and execution of operational strategies to improve patient flow, maximize provider productivity, and support sustainable growth. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the individual will drive complex, cross-functional initiatives while leveraging data analytics to inform decision-making and improve clinical, operational, and financial outcomes. Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a strategic advisor to physician and administrative leadership, providing expert guidance on clinical operations, patient access, revenue cycle performance, and service line strategy Lead and independently manage strategic, cross-functional initiatives to optimize clinical operations, patient access, and service line performance across outpatient clinics, operating rooms, and ambulatory surgery centers Lead the planning and optimization of operating room block utilization and surgical scheduling across specialties and sites, aligning capacity with demand and organizational priorities Analyze and synthesize complex clinical, operational, and financial data (e.g., utilization, referrals, productivity, revenue cycle) to inform strategy, influence decision-making, and drive performance improvement Oversee the development and standardization of scheduling systems, provider templates, referral workflows, and operational processes to ensure consistency, efficiency, and scalability across the department Partner with clinical, operational, and finance leadership to align operational strategies with quality, access, and financial performance goals, including monitoring key performance indicators and implementing improvement plans Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of new clinical programs, services, and care delivery models to support organizational growth and evolving patient care needs

Qualifications: |
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 4-6 years of professional experience in healthcare, business operations, or administrative roles that include responsibilities in operations, data analysis, process improvement, or workflow coordination
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Preferred Qualifications:
An advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or related field Experience in healthcare operations, clinical administration, or ambulatory care settings Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) or workflow optimization initiatives Experience working with electronic health records (e.g., Epic), including scheduling workflows, templates, or reporting tools
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex clinical, operational, and financial data and translate findings into actionable strategies Knowledge of healthcare operations, including ambulatory care, surgical services, patient access, and clinical workflow management Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present data, recommendations, and strategies to clinical and administrative leadership Ability to operate independently with a high degree of autonomy, exercising sound judgment, discretion, and accountability in decision-making Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, complex healthcare environment, while maintaining attention to detail and achieving strategic objectives

Anticipated Pay Range: |
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $76,517 - $97,329 The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
