Designer Advisor

Under minimal supervision, this position leads the design of intuitive and engaging customer and/or user experience designs for digital products and services based on a deep understanding of user needs and business objectives.

Essential Functions

• Demonstrated experience in institutional or corporate communications with an emphasis on creative design.

• Ability to study complex data and broad business strategy and convert into practical, effective communication strategies.

• Experience in communicating transformational initiatives for large companies, especially in creating multi-channel design to help deepen understanding through storytelling.

• Experience in many aspects of video production, including pre-production, interviewing on-camera talent, and providing guidance during post-production

• Proficient analytical, problem-solving, organization, creativity, grammar, writing and human relations/relation management skills.

• Work closely with customer/user experience researchers to support user research and usability testing.

• Collaborate with other designers, customers, product managers, to identify solutions that improve the user experience.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Locations

This position will be hybrid in Memphis, TN, Pittsburgh, PA, or Plano, TX and candidates must live within a 50-mile radius. Employees will be required to work at a FedEx office location up to several times per week.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree/equivalent in user experience, visual, interaction or graphic design or related field.

Minimum Experience

Five (5) years experience in digital customer/user experience or interaction design.

More advanced degrees may offset experience requirements. A related Master's Degree equals two (2) years experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Demonstrated experience with design, wireframe and prototyping tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch, Invision, or Axure.

Strong collaboration, communication and analytical skills.
