Are you a Senior R&D Engineer who enjoys leading complex sustaining engineering projects and making a real impact on patient care? Join our Product Support team in Austin, TX, where you will play a critical role in supporting and improving released medical device designs used in minimally invasive and open surgical procedures around the world.

What will you be doing?

  • Leading sustaining engineering projects for released medical device products, ensuring quality, cost and delivery targets are met

  • Providing technical leadership and working cross functionally with Marketing, Quality, Regulatory and Manufacturing teams

  • Developing and maintaining design control documentation including CAD models, drawings, specifications and verification and validation protocols

  • Supporting supplier qualification and manufacturing changes, including review of IQ OQ PQ documentation

  • Investigating on market product issues, identifying root causes and driving design solutions through verification, validation and production

  • Mentoring and developing junior engineers while contributing to a collaborative and high performing team

What will you need to be successful?

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required, advanced technical degree preferred

  • 5 plus years of experience with a BS or 3 to 5 years with an MS in the medical device industry or another regulated industry

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in tolerance stack analysis, DFM and high precision components

  • Hands on experience with high volume plastics, tooling and manufacturing processes

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and working knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing standards

  • Strong understanding of FDA and ISO design control requirements

  • Excellent communication, problem solving and organizational skills with the ability to work independently and in cross functional teams
