What We DoJoin First American and be part of our growing National Commercial Services (NCS) team as a Construction Disbursement Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for closing and processing construction disbursement transactions, as well as receiving, tracking, and managing construction draws. You'll play a key role in ensuring each project remains compliant with its specific disbursing requirements while supporting the successful execution of construction funding.

HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE

  • Administer disbursing projects, ensuring timely and effective processing of construction disbursing transactions and construction draws.
  • Order date down endorsements.
  • Submit requests for funds.
  • Review pending payments for checks and wires to be issued.
  • Monitor Trust account for receipt of funds.
  • Post incoming money to project files.
  • Print checks and send wires, when appropriate, using appropriate internal procedures.
  • Send notices to payees when funds are available.
  • Review receipt of lien waivers and monitor the distribution of checks.
  • Resolve customer inquiries and follow up on phone calls and e-mails.
  • Organize file data and documents in accordance with team procedures.
  • Invoice for various services.
  • Work with management to ensure all disbursing procedures are followed.
  • Address action items on monthly reports, including trial balance and outstanding check logs.
  • Actively contribute to the results of the team and toward achieving goals and objectives.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Required Education, Experience, Certification/Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and meet assigned deadlines
  • Hands-on experience in lien waivers and construction payment documents a plus
  • Proficient in Excel, Office, and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of the industry
  • Establishes effective working relationships at the work group level

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs)

  • 3+ years of experience as a commercial escrow officer or similar position in a related real estate, title, lending, or construction industry position
  • Prior escrow or banking experience is a plus
Pay Range: $30.91 - $41.20 Hourly, Remote This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
