Overview:
FPM Remediations, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Manager to support environmental and facility-related projects, including work at Plum Island Animal Disease Center (PIADC) and similar federal installations.
This role is ideal for a professional with extensive experience in federal facility operations, contractor oversight, biosafety environments, and multi-agency coordination. The selected candidate will lead projects involving infrastructure upgrades, environmental compliance, and mission-critical operations within highly regulated environments.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Senior Project Manager will provide leadership, oversight, and coordination for projects involving federal facilities, environmental compliance, and infrastructure systems. Responsibilities include:
- Serving as the primary interface between FPM, federal clients, and contractors, ensuring alignment with mission objectives.
- Providing oversight of contractor performance, including quality, safety, schedule, and compliance with technical requirements.
- Conducting and overseeing environmental, safety, and health (ES&H) reviews, inspections, and compliance assessments.
- Leading project meetings, site walkthroughs, and coordination sessions with stakeholders, including scientists, engineers, and operations personnel.
- Reviewing and approving technical work plans, safety documentation, and project deliverables.
- Supporting contract administration activities, including scope review, performance evaluation, and cost/schedule monitoring.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Providing oversight and direction to contractors and subcontractors.
- Monitoring work progress and ensuring compliance with technical specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinating multi-disciplinary teams across operations, maintenance, and technical functions.
Education and/or Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in federal facility operations, environmental programs, or related fields.
- Experience working in complex, regulated environments
- Experience providing oversight of contractors and large service contracts.
- Background in facility systems, maintenance operations, and infrastructure projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of federal compliance frameworks, including environmental and safety requirements.
- Ability to operate effectively in high-security and high-consequence environments.
- Experience coordinating with multiple agencies and stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including reporting and documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in dynamic operational settings.
- Ability to balance mission priorities with safety and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) is a plus.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- OSHA or safety-related certifications
- Quality or auditing certifications (e.g., ISO 9001)
Security Clearance:
Must be able to successfully complete a U.S. government administered investigation
Travel:
Travel between Bohemia office and project sites (including Plum Island) as needed. Travel may also involve participation in and/or coordination/supervision of field work; and presentations and/or meetings with clients and other project stakeholders.
Work Environment:
Combination of general office and facility/field environments.
