We lead the identification, development, and management of technology and process solutions, proactively partnering with business areas to build new capabilities, deliver reliable solutions, and thoughtfully manage Hallmark's investment in technology and endtoend processes. The global team within Hallmark Technology supports our core Global Greetings business by delivering technology solutions that drive efficiency and ease of use for our business partners. This organization is responsible for identifying and implementing technology strategies that advance consumer and retail priorities across Hallmark Gold Crown, Hallmark Digital, and Supply Chain. We are a fastpaced, agile team with a strong culture and play a key role in strengthening partnerships between IT and the Global Greetings business, while supporting the execution of a multiyear technology roadmap.

WHAT YOU'LL DO & HOW IT SHAPES OUR SUCCESS

The EDI Functional Technical Consultant role bridges the gap between technology and business processes, ensuring that our major technology platforms operate effectively and meet the needs of our internal stakeholders and external trading partners. This role serves as the primary point of contact for Hallmark's EDI translation software vendor Cleo and for all external trading partners sending and receiving EDI transactions with Hallmark.

In this role, you'll be responsible for the end to end functional and technical oversight of Hallmark's Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) ecosystem.

Job responsibilities include:



  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders and product management to understand business priorities and strategies. Lead and facilitate cross company discussions to gather, analyze, and document business and integration requirements and translate them into clear functional specifications.
  • Technical Specifications: Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications for engineering teams.
  • Platform Management: Oversee the implementation, configuration, and optimization of technology platforms. Collaborate and serve as the primary liaison with vendor partners and EDI trading partners to deliver technology solutions that align with Hallmark's business goals and strategies.
  • Testing, Validation & Issue Resolution: Develop and execute test plans to ensure solutions meet business requirements and are functioning as intended. Understand and support end to end EDI data flows across multiple platforms, middleware, and the Cleo translation layer. Troubleshoot complex EDI issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive improvements in reliability, automation, and standardization.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor system performance and gather user feedback to identify opportunities for enhancements, optimizations and AI automations. Research issues, develop recommendations and actively participate on product teams to develop solutions to business problems related to a broad range of business and product issues. Understands and interprets key strategic issues to develop recommendations.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices related to relevant technology platforms, recommending improvements as needed.



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

The following are required to be considered for this role:



  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of professional experience
  • At least 3 years of functional technology experience with EDI technology platforms (e.g., Gentran, Cleo)
  • Experience collaborating effectively across internal teams and external partners



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Relevant certifications based on the Cleo or Rocket technology platforms
  • Experience operating in an agile product development environment and use of common industry tools (JIRA, ADO, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of data relationships to enable System-to-System performance and accuracy
  • Familiarity with application testing, debugging and analysis of issues
  • Strong technical acumen and familiarity with software development processes, programming languages, data analytics, or other technical domains relevant to the product are highly desirable
  • Proven background in collaboration and creative problem solving to deliver upon business objectives
  • Exceptional leadership abilities, effective communication, and the capacity to influence and align stakeholders are crucial for success
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and a high volume of initiatives at one time
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities where AI driven automation and process simplification can improve EDI reliability, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Curious and self-starter Customer focused mentality



ADDITIONAL DETAILS



  • The salary range for this role is $95,000 - $120,000. Final compensation varies based on several factors.
