P2S is seeking a highly motivated Construction Observer to support our Construction Management team. We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Observer to support field operations and ensure quality, compliance, and documentation throughout all phases of construction. This role involves daily site presence, coordination with project teams, and thorough reporting of construction activities.



Employment Type: Full-time - Contract (15 months)


Schedule: On-site M-F


Salary: $75,000- $95,000 (dependent on experience)


Level: Entry


Location: Long Beach, CA


Key Responsibilities:



  • Review project plans, specifications, and site conditions to understand construction requirements.
  • Provide continuous on-site observation during all phases of construction, including daytime and nighttime work as needed.
  • Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with safety standards, traffic control requirements, and stormwater pollution prevention (SWPPP) best practices.
  • Document project progress through daily photographs and video recordings before, during, and after construction.
  • Prepare detailed daily reports, including workforce, equipment, work performed, site conditions, deliveries, tests, and any issues or incidents.
  • Track installed quantities and construction progress using Procore or similar project management software.
  • Coordinate with the Construction Manager and support weekly progress meetings.
  • Identify deficiencies, non-compliance issues, or potential delays and report them promptly.
  • Conduct final observations and assist in preparing punch lists for project closeout.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with construction observation or inspection services.
  • Familiarity with SWPPP requirements and construction best management practices (BMPs).
  • Proficiency with Procore or similar construction management software is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and documentation skills.
