Position Summary

The Mortgage Loan Processing and Closing Manager oversees the mortgage loan processing and closing functions to ensure loans are completed accurately, timely, and in compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements. This position provides leadership to processing and closing staff and serves as an escalation point and operational backup to ensure continuity and consistent service delivery. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversee all mortgage loan processing and closing activities to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
  • Lead, coach, and manage processing and closing staff, including workflow assignment, training, and performance management.
  • Monitor pipeline volume, turn times, and file quality, and serve as the escalation point for complex processing and closing issues.
  • Develop, document, and maintain policies and procedures related to mortgage processing and closing functions.
  • Ensure compliance with TRID, RESPA, and internal policies through established quality controls and collaboration with Compliance and Quality Control teams.
  • Provide handson backup support for processing and closing functions as needed to maintain service levels and operational continuity.
Education & Experience

Knowledge:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of mortgage processing and closing workflows, documentation standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of statespecific mortgage laws and practices.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across teams and with external partners.

Ability to:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop loan processing and closing staff to achieve consistent quality, productivity, and service standards.
  • Identify process gaps and implement improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce cycle times, and mitigate risk.
  • Manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and pipelines simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Make independent decisions for which there are not always precedents.
  • Establish and maintain effective cross-functional partnerships, fostering an organizational culture centered on accountability, collaboration and customer-focused service delivery.

Education and Training:

  • Requires bachelor's degree OR equivalent combination of education and a minimum of 6 years related mortgage lending operations experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience, preferably leading mortgage processing and/or closing staff.
  • Experience in mortgage lending operations, including policies, procedures, and best practices, with preferably 6 or more years of progressive responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience with residential mortgage products, including conventional, government, and portfolio loans.
  • Experience working with Encompass Loan Origination System (LOS).

Compensation and Benefits

Salary offered is based on factors, including but not limited to, the job duties, required qualifications and relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance.

(Base Pay Range: $73,000/year - $90,000/year)
