Street Maintenance Worker I Salary: $3,898 - $4,738 / monthly

Street Maintenance Worker II Salary: $4,527 - $5,503 / monthly

Application Process

Applications will be accepted through Wednesday, May 27, 2026, 12:00pm with a first review on May 13, 2026 . Candidates that successfully pass the screening process will be invited for an in-person oral interview tentatively scheduled for June 11, 2026. Select candidates may be invited to a second interview. Those who pass the oral interviews will be placed on an eligibility list that is good for up to 1 year unless exhausted sooner by the department.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a reference / background check including livescan and pass a pre-employment medical examination (which will include a drug/alcohol screening).

Education and Experience


  • Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade.

  • Street Maintenance Worker I: One year of experience in experience in public works construction or maintenance work, or a related field.
  • Street Maintenance Worker II: Three (3) years of increasingly responsible skilled experience in public works related construction work, or two (2) years of experience equivalent to a Street Maintenance Worker I at the City of Corona.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Possession of a valid Class "C" California Driver's License, to be maintained throughout employment.
  • Depending on area of assignment, possession of, or successful acquisition within 12 months of employment, a valid Class "A" or Class "B" California Driver's License, to be maintained throughout employment.

Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools and equipment used in the type of work being performed.
  • Ability to safely and skillfully operate motorized vehicles and equipment used in the course of work.
  • Ability to perform heavy labor
  • Ability to work extended hours and rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.

THE ORGANIZATION

The City of Corona is a General Law city operating under a Council-Manager form of government. Policy making and legislative authority is vested in the City Council, consisting of a Mayor and four Council Members. Members of the City Council are elected by District to a four-year term. The Mayor is selected by the Council and serves as the presiding officer for one year.

The City is organized into the following departments/organizational units: Community Services, City Manager's Office, Economic Development, Finance, Fire, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal and Risk Management, Police, Planning & Development, Public Works and Utilities. Oversight of these departments is divided between the City Manager and two Assistant City Managers.

The City's total operating budget for Fiscal Year 2026 is $422.7 million with a General Fund operating budget of $231.3 million. Corona enjoys a workforce of 935 dedicated employees who provide high-quality services to its residents and visitors each day.
