Family Service Worker Supervisor

Pay Range $ 62,000 - $72,000

Position Summary:

The Family Service Worker Supervisor is responsible for providing supervision to Family Service Workers and ensuring compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and program policies and procedures.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:



  • Provide direct, reflective, supervision (through coaching, mentoring, observation, and feedback) to Family Service Workers, individually and through group supervision.
  • Provide case management support to families with significant needs.
  • Monitor ongoing case management of families served by assigned Family Service Workers.
  • Monitor Family Partnership Agreements and ensure compliance with the Head Start Performance Standards and Head Start Act.
  • Conduct periodic reviews to ensure that complete and confidential record keeping systems for families and children are maintained.
  • Oversee development and implementation of Parent Committee meetings and other Family Engagement activities.
  • Cultivate relationships with agency and community partners to ensure families receive needed services.
  • Work closely with Center Directors and Assistant Center Directors to ensure program, family and child school-readiness goals are met.
  • Act as a liaison with the Department of Children and Families.
  • Assess training and professional development needs of Family Service Workers.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of staff training plans.
  • Participate in bi-monthly Family Support meetings/trainings.
  • Coordinate and participate in recruitment activities.
  • Complete annual Performance Appraisals for assigned staff.
  • Prepare and deliver timely, constructive, and comprehensive performance reviews in accordance with organizational deadlines and performance management policies

Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Humam Services
  • Excellent attention to detail. Minimum of 3-5 years' experience working with low-income individuals or families required.
  • Minimum of one year assessment, advocacy and case management work in a Human Service field required.
  • Desire to work with low income, culturally diverse, and at-risk families and individuals.
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to motivate staff.
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient computer skills required in basic computer software and data collection systems.
  • Excellent crisis management skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and confidentiality of information.
  • Able to pass CORI and EEC Background which includes fingerprinting
  • Ability to show MMR immunity
  • Recent Physical


Preferred Qualifications



  • Minimum of one-year previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish, English/Khmer English/Portuguese)
