What to Expect

Tesla is seeking a Vision Technician to join our Cell Manufacturing Technology team at Giga Texas (GFTX). In this role, you will support the deployment and maintenance of advanced vision systems (cameras, profilometers, and sensors) used to inspect the quality of battery cells and components in ourstate-of-the-artmanufacturing facilities.

You will work hands-on with engineers to install, test, troubleshoot, andoptimizevision systems on the production line - including image labeling and validation of machine learning models. Tesla provides full training on all required software and tools. No prior machine vision experience is necessary, but a strong interest in computers, industrial systems, and problem-solving is essential.


What You'll Do
  • Install line-side equipment including cameras, lights, computer hardware,bracketsand precision components

  • Perform wiring, networking andoperatecomputer programs in a manufacturing environment

  • Collaborate with teams todetermine optimalhardware locations and timing to minimize production downtime

  • Use software to load, sort, label images and monitor training and validation processes

  • Provide direct feedback to engineers on system performance and functionality on the production line

  • Monitor system alerts, troubleshoot issues,determinerootcausesand implement preventive measures

  • Work closely with quality engineers to communicate system failures and support resolution efforts


What You'll Bring
  • Demonstrated fundamental computer skills including file systems and network troubleshooting

  • Strong knowledge of electrical safety practices in a manufacturing environment

  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal

  • Experience documenting work, performing root cause analysis, and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment

  • 1+ year of relevant experience in industrial manufacturing or equivalent

  • Previousexperience with inline vision systems (Cognex, Keyence or similar) is a strong plus

  • Exposure to programming languages (Python, C/C++) and image processing libraries (OpenCV, Halcon, MIL) is highly desired
