Job Summary
The Accountant II is responsible for supporting general accounting operations, including financial reporting, reconciliations, and close processes. This role contributes to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across geographically dispersed teams. The Accountant II also serves as a key point of contact for assigned processes, supporting audits, resolving discrepancies, and participating in special projects. Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and review journal entries, including accruals, intercompany transactions, and international accounting entries.
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies using reconciliation tools.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including trial balance review and data validation.
- Load and reconcile general ledger data and supporting schedules within reporting systems.
- Identify and resolve errors or inconsistencies in financial data.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned accounting processes, ensuring clear and professional communication.
- Respond to ad hoc data requests, audit inquiries, and issue resolution.
- Develop and deliver presentations as needed.
- Participate in and support special projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and applicable accounting standards.
- Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP S/4.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, including data analysis and reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline required.
Work Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
- Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting processes required.
- Experience with reconciliation tools preferred.
- Prior experience in public accounting or large corporate environments preferred.
