| Position Summary |
The employee in this position works as a Carpenter/Roofer in the Campus Operations department. This position requires responding to and addressing a dynamic scope of work, both routine and emergency in nature, for Campus Operations Trades. Primary duties include, but are not limited to; Carpentry and woodworking such as window repairs & their dressings, shelving fabrication, door framing, wall fabrication, special needs fabrication, wall mounting, frame making, and custom wood projects.
This position also has duties involving basic roof work which includes responding to roof leaks, asphalt shingle, built-up roofing, and membrane installations, gutter and downspout inspections & repairs, seam repairs, soffit and fascia repairs. Other duties include facilitating special events that includes set-up & tear down, responding to trouble calls and performing basic maintenance on building wood infrastructure. After-hours emergencies as required. |

Typical work hours are Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Hours may flex depending on the needs of the university. Employees must be able to respond to
UNC Asheville within 30 minutes. Other occasional overtime may be required on evenings and weekends to meet the needs of the university. The employee in this position is classified as mandatory personnel in accordance with
UNC Asheville policy. |
