Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Principal Project Engineer to support Facilitization DesignBuild projects and our growing network of munitions facilities. This role primarily supports a new artillery manufacturing facility in the Dallas, Texas area, with additional work on major construction, renovation, and capital projects across the US and Canada. The engineer will lead scoping, planning, SOW development, and construction management, coordinating with crossfunctional teams, design partners, subcontractors, and OEMs. A strong foundation in Mechanical, Electrical, I&C, and Structural design is preferred.

Essential Functions

  • Performs engineering design evaluations and works to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints.
  • Reviews industry policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Reviews reports of production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine or address problems.
  • Provides technical support for the engineering process.
  • Designs, implements, and communicates, an operational plan for completing the project. Monitors progress and performance against the project plan.
  • Takes action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays.
  • Identifies, develops, and gathers resources necessary to complete the project.
  • Prepares engineering designs and work specifications.
  • Develops project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Selects materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors.

  • Support development and technical oversight of engineering submittals, drawings, and specifications

Required Qualifications

  • Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 8-10 years' experience
  • Discipline/Major: Engineering degree required
  • Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
  • Knowledge, skills & abilities:
    • * Experience resolving field engineering changes, RFIs, and nonconformance issues
      * Strong interdisciplinary coordination skills (mechanical, electrical, controls, systems, O&M, EHS)
      * Ability to provide technical input on constructability, value engineering, and risk mitigation
      * Knowledge of contract risk management and project quality, cost, and schedule principles
      * Experience developing and maintaining engineering procedures, criteria, and specifications
      * Ability to effectively interface with contractors, consultants, jurisdictions, and regulatory agencies
  • Preferred Experience in: Defense Industry, Heavy Metal Forming, and upgrading or standing up industrial facilities.
  • International and Domestic travel between site locaitons is expected


Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.


Travel Requirements

Up to 25% travel likely.
