Senior Manager, Finance Controlling (PEX)

Purpose

Leads the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and controlling for North America PEX & FTE spend. Ensures integrity and transparency of FTE & PEX spend against Current and Future (Blue Print) to assure financial forecasts are accurate and targets are achieved. Plays a leadership role in how the organization forecasts, tracks, manages, and reports all aspects of the PEX spending. Partners with multiple departments on cross functional and strategic projects to address business risks and opportunities and to drive creative outcomes.








Key Accountabilities



  • Provide trusted financial guidance and influence to Senior and Executive leadership, enabling datadriven business decisions and growth through optimization of PEX and workforce spend.
  • Own endtoend monthly and annual FTE and PEX budgeting, forecasting, and actuals, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and alignment with approved budgets and strategic plans.
  • Lead the monthly FTE & PEX governance process, delivering transparent variance analysis, insights, and recommendations to support timely decisionmaking and spend discipline.
  • Partner collaboratively with FP&A, Financial Controllers, HR partners, and NAM Finance leadership, aligning workforce planning, compensation including benefits, and productivity assumptions with financial outcomes.
  • Manage standardized monthly financial deliverables and communications to FP&A and Cost Management, NAM Finance, and the Senior Leadership Team, ensuring clarity, consistency, and executivelevel insight.
  • Drive accountability for labor and operating expense management, proactively identifying risks and opportunities, guiding corrective actions, and conducting postmortems on outcomes.
  • Continuously enhance forecasting, reporting, and governance rigor, implementing process improvements and bestknown practices to increase transparency, predictability, and efficiency.
  • Support senior management with advanced financial analysis, ad hoc reporting, and crossfunctional initiatives, contributing financial leadership to strategic and operational projects.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate, influence, and lead crossfunctionally across Finance, HR, and business leadership at all levels of the organization, including senior and executive stakeholders.
  • Advanced interpersonal, communication, and executivepresence skills, with the ability to clearly present complex financial information, articulate insights, and respond effectively to questions from both financial and nonfinancial leaders.
  • Strong analytical capability and deep knowledge of Finance and Accounting principles, with the ability to translate strategy into actionable financial plans and decisions.
  • Proven experience owning and managing workforce and operating expense economics, including FTE planning, labor cost drivers, compensation considerations, and spend tradeoffs.
  • Sound financial judgment and discretion, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, balance competing priorities, and influence outcomes in highimpact or sensitive governance discussions.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and quantify business risks and opportunities, assess financial impact, and conduct postmortems to inform future decisionmaking.
  • Proven success improving and simplifying financial management processes, optimizing workflows to increase efficiency, accuracy, transparency, and adoption in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong proficiency with financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and workforce systems, leveraging data, automation, and tools to deliver insight and improve governance rigor.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and define problems, collect and synthesize data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to recommend practical solutions.
  • Strong prioritization, organizational, and attentiontodetail skills, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables under tight timelines in a fastpaced, evolving environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change and drive accountability, influencing stakeholder behavior and ensuring consistent adherence to financial governance and controls.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, highperformance organization, contributing financial leadership to crossfunctional initiatives and projects as required.
  • Strong familiarity with the landscape of professional and collegiate sports preferred, including an understanding of unique workforce, revenue, and cost dynamics.
  • At adidas we offer a Hybrid work policy which requires attendance in the office Monday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Friday each week. For work requiring a high degree of collaboration or an in-person presentation, in-office attendance is required even on Friday.



Qualifications (Minimum required education and experience):



  • University degree in Finance, Accounting or Business; MBA/CPA preferred
  • 8-10 years' experience in accounting, financial analysis or planning
  • Solid accounting skills and experience preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • Familiarity with SAP, SAC and OWM and other relevant adidas and industry Finance systems/analytical software required
