The Role -

Amphenol Aerospace is seeking aEngineering Manager to work out its state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY.

TheEngineering Managerleads all engineering activities related to the design, development, and sustainment of Mil-Aero filter connector products; responsible for defining strategy, planning, and executing new product development initiatives, while supporting and expanding existing product lines. They provides leadership and direction to a team of engineers, designers, and technicians to achieve departmental objectives; acts as a key technical interface with customers to solve complex interconnect challenges and develop innovative, application-specific solutions.

The key responsibilities of theEngineering Managerinclude, but are not limited to:



  • Leads and actively participates in major product development efforts from concept through production release, including customer engagement, design reviews, project execution, supplier coordination, qualification, and manufacturing transition.
  • Partners with product marketing to define and execute strategies that drive innovative, customer-focused solutions aligned with growth in key Mil/Aero programs
  • Plans, prioritizes, and manages all engineering projects within the filter connector portfolio
  • Allocates resources and drives execution to meet project timelines, cost targets, and technical objectives
  • Provides leadership in defining product roadmaps, technology development, and long-term strategy for filter products
  • Analyzes engineering data and requirements to guide design decisions and ensure successful program execution
  • Serves as the primary technical point of contact for customers, fostering strong relationships and driving engineering engagement to support new and existing business
  • Collaborates with suppliers and cross-divisional teams to resolve complex design and manufacturing challenges
  • Leads performance management, including coaching, development, and formal reviews of team members
  • Oversees and coordinates the work of all personnel within the filter engineering team
  • Provides technical support and coordination across internal departments, including Operations, Quality, and Sales
  • Supervisor and Manager Responsibilities Related to EHS:

    • Ensure safe work practices are being followed by their employees
    • Ensure their direct reports attend required EHS trainings
    • Understand training requirements for tasks that are being performed
    • Ensure incidents and near misses are appropriately reported and corrective actions are implemented

Salary: $90,000 - $130,000

The Person -

The key skills and qualities of aEngineering Managerat Amphenol Aerospace:



  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience), with 5-8+ years of relevant experience
  • Candidates should have working knowledge of Mil/Aero specifications, engineering design, testing, and manufacturing processes
  • Experience with electrical connectors-specifically filter connectors-is strongly preferred, including familiarity with EMI filtering, MOVs, and transient suppression technologies
  • Experience with CAD (Creo or equivalent) and PDM systems (Windchill or equivalent) preferred
  • Strong technical foundation in filter connector technologies
  • Cross-disciplinary engineering capability - ideally electrical background with strong mechanical aptitude, or mechanical background with strong electrical understanding
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated leadership and team development skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts, both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams with diverse technical backgrounds
  • Excellent communication skills with experience mentoring engineers and developing technical documentation
  • Responsible for the technical direction and execution of product design, development, and evaluation for connector and interconnect solutions
  • Provides leadership and direction to engineers, designers, and technicians to ensure successful delivery of high-quality products aligned with business objectives
  • Occasional travel (10%)
  • Primary requirements of the position require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting
  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Lift and carry light to moderate amounts of weight
