Job Description

The Quality Engineer will be required to obtain HACCP certification and serve as a key member of the site HACCP Team, acting as the Alternate HACCP Coordinator as needed. The role will also function as the Alternate ISO Management Representative, supporting quality system governance, compliance oversight, and management reporting.

The Quality Engineer must complete and maintain all required corporate training and qualifications necessary to hold these designated roles and responsibilities.

The Quality Engineer will support and maintain compliance at the Libertyville facility with applicable quality and food safety standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 15378, SQF, and the Interstate Milk Shippers (IMS) Standard. This role will help ensure the site remains aligned with corporate compliance calendar requirements, including audit readiness, certification activities, documentation maintenance, and continuous improvement initiates.

Leads HFI (inspection, reselection, rework) process.
-Manages NCRs (InfinityQS, JDE, Excel) databases.
-Continuously monitors non-conforming product (inventory, defect data, etc.) and provides reports as required.
-Assures quality of HFI inspection/reselection and timely results.
-Maintains HFI and NCR records and reporting as required.
-Communicates and delegates planned and unplanned activities to HFI employees in conjunction with department goals.
-Instructs HFI employees in informal and formal training and coaching sessions.

Maintains accurate JDE Inventoryfrom non conformance product

-Place & Release Non conformance product on hold in JDE.

Supports product testing as needed for back-up (visual, functional, dimensional).
-Reads and interprets Part Specification, Quality Plan and Blue Print.
-Performs visual and functional inspections of product(Work-In-Process and Finished Goods).
-Properly uses measuring equipment [Caliper, Micrometers, Torque meter, etc.].
-Collects applicable information for product traceability.
-Gathers applicable documents for package prior to start-up.
-Approves labels for regular jobs and samples.
-Supplies accurate data to Manufacturing department while troubleshooting.
-Maintains records of job execution.
-Support Quality Training Events.

Support and maintain all policies of the company including but not limited to ISO/BRC Standards, Health and Safety Requirements, Continuous Improvement, and standard work procedures.

Pay: The pay range for this role starts at 65,000 annually; however, depending on job related-knowledge, skills, and experience, the range may be between 65,000 and 85,000.
