NS Asst Storekeeper : 5-Year Progression(12-Step)

Under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor or Senior Storekeeper, this position has the following responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and assistance to Material Specialist
  • Ensuring the warehouse crew complies with health and safety regulations
  • Provide training to employees.
  • Assists with maintaining an organized and clean storeroom that is properly labeled, and material is protected and safeguarded.
  • Assists with preparing empty storage locations for new inventory to be received.
  • Responsible for rotating material in storage locations in accordance with first-in-first-out (FIFO) and expiration dates.
  • Assists with preparing external orders/transfer for the Working Foreman or Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Assists in maintaining all related inventory within budgeted levels and reporting any variances to the Working Foreman or Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Assists with filing internal requisitions, and issuing the product requested and approved, according to Company policy.
  • Assists with controlling waste and spoilage of product.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Job Purpose
  • Provide guidance and assistance to Material Handlers
  • Monitoring and maintaining suitable warehouse inventory levels
  • Perform QA/QC audits
  • Perform monthly housekeeping audits
  • Report and investigate all issues and returns
  • Maintain accurate BIN Verification records & complete missing transactions
  • Prepare comprehensive reports
  • Assist the Storekeepers in all phases of inventory management
  • Verify piece counts and perform inspections
  • Under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, Senior Storekeeper, or Assistant Storekeeper, this position has the following responsibilities:
  • Perform all duties associated with material handling, loading, unloading, order fulfillment, as well as clerical/terminal work related to these duties.
  • Lift material up to 60 lbs. without assistance.
Key Accountabilities
  • Stock shelves as well as climb ladders up to 20 feet.
  • Operate computers and equipment associated with inventory management and bar-coding technology accurately and efficiently.
  • Build effective working relationships with internal and external customers, co-workers, and supervisors with teamwork, trust, continuous improvement, and personal development.
  • Perform general housekeeping of warehouse area.
  • Count materials for physical inventory cycle counts.
  • Ability to operate various types of forklifts and pallet jacks, indoors and outdoors, on all terrain, and in all weather conditions.
  • Comply with all Company safety standards and environmental regulations, including safe work practices, as described in the 'Safety Guidelines' manual.
  • Subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime to respond to call-ins.
Qualifications

Candidates must have a High School degree or GED

Must pass a Company assessment test

Required certifications within 90 days of hire.

  • Load Securement
  • Spotter Training
  • Forklift Training Module 1-2
  • First Aid, CPR, AED Training
  • Electric Pallet Jack
  • TRM Training

Pay Rate: $ 36.01 an hour

Location: Brooklyn
