Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking a Geospatial Business Development Analyst to support the growth of our Geospatial and Technology Services (GTS) offerings across the U.S. Department of Defense and other federal defense organizations. This position will support Dewberry's federal defense business development team by combining geospatial domain knowledge, market research, data analytics, and business development coordination to help identify, qualify, and pursue new opportunities.

Responsibilities

Defense Market Support

    Support business development efforts focused on defense and national security clients, including DoD components, combatant commands, and defense agencies.
  • Research and track defenserelated geospatial opportunities, programs, contracts, and funding trends.
  • Analyze client missions, organizational structures, and acquisition strategies to inform capture and positioning efforts.

Business Development

  • Maintain and analyze opportunity pipelines, capture plans, and client portfolios using structured data and dashboards.
  • Develop reports, summaries, and visualizations that support go/nogo decisions, leadership briefings, and strategic planning.
  • Identify trends across opportunities, customers, and competitors to support datadriven business development decisions.
  • Assist with proposal development, including content coordination, integration of geospatial capabilities, development of win themes, value propositions, and capability narratives related to geospatial services.


Required Skills & Required Experience

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Geospatial Intelligence, Engineering, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience supporting business development, capture, program management, or analytics efforts in a federal defense or national security environment.
  • Foundational understanding of geospatial services, such as GIS, remote sensing, GEOINT, data analytics, or enterprise geospatial systems.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; experience with dashboards or analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar) is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience supporting client or leadershipfacing materials.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced, pursuitdriven environment.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust or DoD security clearance, as required.

Preferred (but not required) Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with or supporting DoD GEOINT, ISR, space, or defense geospatial programs.
  • Familiarity with federal acquisition processes, including contract vehicles, task orders, and capture planning.
  • Experience translating technical geospatial capabilities into business or missionfocused value statements.
  • Background supporting geospatial programs or clients within the Army, Air Force, Space Force, NGA, or combatant commands.
  • Experience with structured pipeline tracking or CRM systems.
