Ball State University is seeking a Temporary Administrative Coordinator in Disability Services to help create an environment that fosters access and opportunity for students with disabilities.

What you'll do and what you'll bring:

Position Description:

Disability Services strives to create an environment that fosters access and opportunity for students with disabilities. Following an empowerment model, students with disabilities will have maximum opportunity to fulfill their potential. This temporary position will assist the professional staff in the office with the day-to-day operations and ensure that students have the information they need to interact with the office.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all incoming phone calls and monitor the general office email account to ensure timely responses.

  • Greet and assist walk-in visitors, providing immediate answers to general inquiries, and maintain a welcoming environment.

  • Assist students through the initial steps of the registration process for accommodations, ensure forms are completed correctly and routed appropriately.

  • Keep accurate electronic and physical records and update student files to maintain compliance and data integrity.

  • Perform essential clerical tasks that support the broader DS team and ensure streamlined daily operations.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate will be 18 years of age or older.

  • Have a high school diploma or GED.

  • Have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

  • Have proficient spoken and written English skills.

  • Possess strong judgment and critical thinking skills.

  • Possess the ability to make independent decisions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Possess the ability to work cooperatively with others.

  • Possess the ability to relate/work well with students with various disabilities and their families.

This position requires a successful completion of a background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with office management or administrative tasks for people with disabilities.
