Note Team Specialist *Location:* San Diego, CA
*Workplace Type:* OnSite *Job Type:* Contract2Hire *Schedule:* Monday-Friday | Day Shift *Pay:* Up to $20/hr Overview We're hiring a *Note Team Specialist* to support the Investor Fulfillment and Note Operations team at a national mortgage company. This is an entrylevel opportunity for someone with *at least 1 year of mortgagerelated experience* who enjoys detailoriented, processdriven work. You'll play a critical role in handling original mortgage notes, preparing warehouse bank packages, and ensuring compliance with internal and external guidelines. This role offers strong *longterm growth potential* and the opportunity to convert to fulltime based on performance. What You'll Be Doing * Receive, open, and process incoming mortgage notes via *USPS, UPS, and FedEx* * *Create and label manila loan folders* (loan numbers, borrower names, warehouse bank codes) * Identify and escalate issues with *original notes* to the Note Team Supervisor * Distinguish between *1st lien and 2nd lien notes* * *Build and prepare warehouse bank packages* in accordance with specified guidelines * Assemble and ship *daily FedEx packages* to warehouse banks * Sort, file, and track notes based on warehouse destination * Review and audit *unfunded notes* daily for accuracy and compliance * Support the Note Department Supervisor and Manager with operational and compliancerelated tasks * Perform additional administrative duties as needed MustHave Skills * *1+ year of mortgagerelated experience* (postclosing, collateral, shipping, funding, or similar) * Experience handling *mortgage documents or original notes* * *Strong attention to detail and document accuracy* * *Ability to meet deadlines in a fastpaced, highvolume environment* * *Solid customer service mindset and professional communication skills* * *Comfortable working with mail processing, filing, and document organization* NiceToHave Skills * Experience in *postclosing, collateral, or investor fulfillment* * *Familiarity with warehouse lending or document custody* * *Microsoft Word and basic Excel proficiency* * *Experience working in a regulated or compliancedriven environment* Experience & Qualifications * Mortgage, lending, or financial services experience preferred * Strong organizational and timemanagement skills * Ability to follow detailed procedures and guidelines * Comfortable communicating via email, phone, and in person * Ability to work independently under regular supervision Why Join Us You'll be joining a team where *accuracy and compliance directly impact funding and investor relationships*.
