Senior Operations Analyst- Journeys Distribution Center

Job Summary

The Senior Operations Analyst with Genesco will sit at the Journeys Distribution Center in Lebanon, TN. This role blends data analysis, project management, documentation, and solution design, focusing on translating complex data into actionable operations decisions, managing project lifecycles, creating clear requirements (user stories, process maps), and ensuring solutions meet business needs through data-driven insights and stakeholder communication.

Specifically, this role falls inside the Distribution Center hierarchy serving the DC Operations team by ensuring they have all the necessary information and solutions to make strategic operational decisions by bridging data, tech, industrial engineering, and business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Analysis & Insights

• Mine, analyze, and interpret complex datasets to identify trends, opportunities, and inefficiencies.
• Provide proof of concept ROI for before adopting enhancements or additional technologies
• Develop KPIs, reports, and dashboards using BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Translate technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for business stakeholders.

Project Management & Coordination:

• Provide input for project estimates
• Manage project lifecycle from Operations viewpoint, from scoping and planning to execution and UAT.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, manage resources, set deadlines, and mitigate risks.
• Track project milestones and deliverables against timelines and budgets.

Documentation & Requirements:

• Gather, document, and manage business requirements (user stories, use cases, workflows).
• Create process maps (as-is/to-be) and conduct gap analysis.
• Maintain high-quality documentation for data systems, processes, and solutions.

Software Solutioning:

• Identify and propose data-driven software solutions to improve processes, products, and services.
• Assess solution viability, feasibility, and business impact.
• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure solutions meet business and quality specifications.
• Lead Operational QA testing efforts for new solutions

Industrial Engineering:

• Work closely with IE to ensure data-driven results

Key Qualifications:

• 8 to 10 years' experience in the field
• Degree required in Computer Information Technology or related
• Deep distribution/operational and system knowledge
• Proven experience in business analysis, data analysis, and project coordination.
• Proficiency in SQL, BI tools, and data analysis techniques.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

• Deep understanding of IE principles and methodology
