THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is searching for a Clerical Assistant to work at the Harrisburg Headquarters in the Bureau of Wildlife Management. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position plays a vital role in supporting wildlife management by accurately entering critical data from research projects, harvest reports, and disease monitoring efforts. Through timely communication and dependable administrative support, you will assist in ensuring informed decision-making and responsive service to hunters and the public. Additionally, this role provides essential clerical assistance across the Bureau of Wildlife Management, contributing to smooth, efficient, and effective daily operations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 7:45am to 4:00pm, Monday-Friday, with a 45-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. Telework is not permitted during the initial six-month probationary period; eligibility may be granted upon its successful completion. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg, PA. Telework arrangements are subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):
  • Completion of one typing course.
  • Previous experience entering data using a personal computer.
  • Previous experience and/or familiarity with hunting and wildlife management in Pennsylvania.
