DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will support efficient, accurate driver licensing services at the Driver License Center and serve the public with courtesy and compliance. As a Driver License Examiner Assistant, you will perform the following duties:

  • Customer Service: Provide professional greetings and guide applicants through identification verification and application completion
  • Testing Support: Administer standardized knowledge tests and conduct vision screenings using a telebinocular instrument
  • Accurate Data Entry: Enter application and test results into online driver licensing systems using a PC terminal
  • Regulatory Compliance: Follow REAL ID regulations, Title VI requirements, and Customer Service Policy while processing transactions
  • Product Guidance: Explain requirements for renewals, duplicates, out-of-state transfers, motorcycle licenses, CDLs, and related endorsements and restrictions
  • Fee Waiver Accuracy: Apply correct fee waiver codes and document waivers in line with Fee Waiver Guidelines

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM, Tuesday- Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.
