Strategic Buyer - Manufacturing Procurement

Are you a results-driven procurement professional who knows how to balance cost, quality, and delivery? We're hiring a Strategic Buyer to manage purchasing operations, strengthen vendor partnerships, and drive cost-effective sourcing strategies in a production environment.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour

What You'll Do

• Manage the full lifecycle of purchasing activities, including processing, tracking, and maintaining purchasing records
• Source materials, equipment, and supplies while negotiating pricing, delivery terms, and contracts with suppliers
• Leverage annual spend and purchasing trends to develop cost-saving sourcing strategies
• Prepare and evaluate vendor quotes and bid comparisons to support purchasing decisions
• Expedite critical or delayed orders to ensure uninterrupted plant operations
• Build and maintain a preferred vendor database based on cost, quality, and reliability
• Collaborate cross-functionally with accounting, warehouse, and operations to resolve discrepancies and support scheduling needs
• Ensure all purchasing activities comply with internal approvals and external regulations (SOX, Dodd-Frank)
• Research logistics and supply chain solutions to support plant requirements
• Develop strong working knowledge of ERP systems to support procurement processes

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing or production environment
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
• Solid understanding of cost control, sourcing strategies, and supply chain processes
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to influence and collaborate across teams without direct authority
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
