About the Opportunity:

We're looking for a Human Resources Business Partner to support our team at the Whitesboro, NY manufacturing site. This is a hands-on role for someone who likes being out on the floor, building real relationships with employees and leaders, and helping solve problems as they come up-while also pushing the organization to continuously improve how we work and operate together.

Working closely with the HR Manager, you'll support a site of about 400 employees in a union environment. You'll partner with leaders on staffing, team structure, and day-to-day people challenges, while also coaching managers on performance, development, and employee relations.

A big part of the role is navigating employee relations issues-figuring things out, asking the right questions, and helping drive fair, consistent outcomes. You'll also stay close to hiring and onboarding, support talent development and retention efforts, and use data to spot trends and push for improvements where needed. Just as important, you'll help strengthen the culture-building trust, improving communication, and reinforcing the behaviors that make the site more effective over time. Staying on top of labor laws, the union agreement, and company policies is a given.

At the end of the day, this role is about being a trusted partner-someone who can build credibility, support the team, and help create a strong, productive work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the HR Manager and site leadership to align people strategy, workforce planning, and team structure with business needs.
  • Coach supervisors and managers on leadership, performance management, employee relations, and development.
  • Handle employee relations issues end-to-end-conducting investigations, working through conflicts, and driving fair, consistent outcomes.
  • Support a unionized workforce, including contract interpretation and ensuring day-to-day practices align with the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Stay close to recruiting and onboarding-helping ensure roles are filled with the right people and new hires are set up for success.
  • Support talent development and retention efforts, including talent reviews and building bench strength across the site.
  • Use HR data (turnover, engagement, performance trends) to identify issues, spot opportunities, and push for practical improvements.
  • Build strong relationships across the floor-being visible, accessible, and a go-to resource for both employees and leaders.
  • Help strengthen the site culture by improving communication, reinforcing expectations, and supporting a more accountable, engaged workforce.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and HR processes.
  • Jump in on other priorities as they come up-this is a hands-on role where needs shift and flexibility matters.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of HR Business Partner or comparable HR experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 7 years of relevant HR experience without a degree.
