POSITION SUMMARY :

Reporting to the Director of Compensation, the Compensation Analyst assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of broad base compensation programs; ensuring internal equity, external competitiveness, and compliance with applicable regulations and supports BMC's philosophy and strategic plan. Advises HRBP, Talent Acquisition Partners, and Managers on compensation issues. Reviews job descriptions and performs job evaluations to determine appropriate market value. Participates in salary surveys, performs market analysis for both union and non-union positions, and develops recommendations for adjustments.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:


  • Assists in the development and implementation of compensation programs, policies, and procedures that support BMC's compensation philosophy.

  • Develops analyses to aid in the annual compensation planning processes, as well as compensation-related projects.

  • Reviews job descriptions and conducts job evaluations for new positions and/or positions with significant changes. Works with HRBPs on analysis and recommendations (e.g., determining appropriateness of title, FLSA status, and market match).

  • Ensures all aspects of job creation (e.g. job codes/profiles) are addressed in a timely manner.

  • Participates in the compensation survey process; compiles and submits data to multiple vendors, and ensures market match validations are accurate.

  • Maintains the salary survey database (CompAnalyst), ensuring the most recent data is reflected in job composites.

  • Performs market reviews, and proposes thoughtful, data-driven solutions to issues through data analysis and external benchmarking.

  • Partners with the Talent Acquisition team on union offers, recommending salary placement/step rate.

  • Reviews and processes monthly step adjustments for union employees.

  • Provides recommendations for process improvements.

  • Works with HRIS team to design and develop compensation reports.

  • Conducts necessary ad hoc compensation-related analysis.

  • Performs other job-related duties as needed or requested.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

  • BA/BS degree required, preferably in Human Resources, Finance, or related discipline.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of experience in compensation. Prior experience working in a union environment and/or healthcare industry preferred.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:


  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills; ability to successfully perform independent analysis and present findings.

  • Ability to analyze large volumes of data that supports appropriate compensation decisions.

  • Attentive to detail and follow-up; deadline oriented; very strong ability to prioritize and multi-task.

  • Exercises judgment in managing confidential/sensitive information

  • Ability to develop and implement process enhancements and efficiencies

  • Keeps apprised of federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation and presentation skills.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint etc.)

  • Experience working with HRIS systems, preferably Workday. CompAnalyst experience a plus.


Compensation Range:

$56,000.00- $78,500.00

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
