Your Job

Georgia-Pacific is seeking an HR Director to support the strategic sourcing and procurement capability. The role will serve as the strategic HR business partner for this team of approximately 700. The HR Director will help the capability leaders to create value by bringing critical thought leadership and strategic planning to the goal of creating an advantaged talent position. This role is a supervisor to one HR business partner.

The ideal candidate will be self-directed, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively. They will possess the ability to innovate and integrate HR practices around critical business issues, aligning people, processes, and organizational structures to support these innovations. Additionally, they will demonstrate competence in building relationships and connecting individuals to one another and to the broader business strategy, leveraging Principle Based Management at all times. The candidate will also be skilled at collaborating within a matrixed environment to drive results and foster strong working relationships.

Location

The role is located at GP Center in Atlanta. The HR Director can work in a hybrid manner. Occasional travel is expected to visit team members at sites.

What You Will Do

Principle Based Management Steward

    • Understand and apply our Principle Based Management philosophy to build employee engagement and improve leadership development.
    • Understand and apply our Principle Based Management philosophy to understand and solve for gaps in talent strategy and variable compensation strategy

Strategic Talent Leader

    • Develop and own key HR priority initiatives and build strategies to advance progress
    • Build change capability in the business.
    • Leverage data driven solutions to support business and advance results.
    • Lead and participate in cross-functional projects as needed to improve HR processes, policies, and systems.

Thought Partner

    • Build strategic partnerships with leaders on business issues and identify proactive, innovative and customer-oriented HR solutions that drive value-added business outcomes.
    • Guide, coach and influence business leaders on making talent decisions that align comparative advantage, and drive strategy execution and business performance.

HR Team Member

    • Foster knowledge sharing culture to profitably improve efficiency and consistency and partner with other HR leaders across GP to share information and best practices.
    • Reduction of non-value-added complexity and leveraging shared capabilities across the business.
    • Optimize risk to the Company by effectively interpreting current policies and practices while identifying opportunities to drive standardization and eliminate waste.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Previous experience in an HR-related role.
  • Experience building relationships and partnering with leaders to advance business initiatives.
  • Experience working with data and performing analysis to identify and execute on opportunities.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience building talent strategies for business units.
  • Experience in a sourcing and procurement capability or a manufacturing environment.
  • HR leadership experience.
  • Supervisory experience in a Principle Based Management environment.
  • Understanding of evolving HR landscape and demonstrated ability to lead organizational change efforts.
