Summary

This position is responsible for the 2nd level of technical engineering and troubleshooting expertise for theenterprisedesktop environment, andincludesexpertise in networking protocols, desktop security, and a deep understandingand ownershipofmodern endpoint management platforms,Microsoft Desktop Operation Systems (O/S) and application interaction. The position is primarily responsible for defining, implementing, documenting, communicating, and supporting desktop configurations withinDerivaEnergy.

This role will be located at the Deriva Headquarters office in Charlotte, NC.

Responsibilities

  • Define and document repeatable processes for implementing and managing desktop hardware and operating systems

  • Manage Entra / Active Directory computer objects within the desktop environment

  • Investigate and troubleshoot Group Policy and configuration settings applied to users and devices

  • Develop and maintain scripts to support Group Policy, configurations, and workstation image creation

  • Create and manage processes and procedures for desktop image maintenance

  • Support and develop tools or scripts to update existing and new desktop operating systems

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on desktop hardware strategies, guiding principles, and technology roadmaps, with a focus on operational impacts of new technologies

  • Provide technical expertise, solution testing, and support throughout project lifecycles

  • Help define and drive strategic operational direction for desktop services

  • Lead the implementation and adoption of industry best practices

  • Serve as the highest level of escalation for complex desktop problem resolution and support

  • Assist team members with troubleshooting and resolving advanced desktop issues

  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise to Tier 3 support specialists

  • Consulting Services - includes desktop consulting for end users, application teams, IT Security, and Network Systems Management and Integration Services

  • Technical Support - includes desktop support for end users and 2nd level support for the enterprise service desk

  • Software support for enterprise applications including, but not limited to M365, Windows 11, middleware (Java, Adobe etc.) and limited first level support for business applications

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in information technology, computer science, cybersecurity or a related field

  • In lieu of an associate's degree, GED/HS Diploma AND one (1) year or more relevant experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field

  • Three (3) years or more work related experience

  • Microsoft Certifications(MD-102Endpoint Administrator,Azure Admin,etc)

  • Microsoft Application integration understanding and experience

  • Demonstrated ability to recognize and resolve Cyber threats, virus containment and other events that would compromiseDerivaEnergy's desktop assets

  • Scripting skills and tool usage a plus (Powershell. Python,etc)

  • Apple Business andiO/S support

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve end user problems related to the workstation

  • Hands-on technical skills for lab testing, proof of concepts, and implementations

  • Demonstrated ability to provide operational customer service

  • Proven experience in security and networking

  • Demonstrated strong teamwork, interpersonal and communications skills

  • Understandingand demonstrated proficiencyinActive Directory, Entra ID, Intune, Autopilot, Device Configuration

  • Platform ownership-IntuneDevicemanagement/MDM,applicationpackaging, deployment andManage Engineworkstation patching

Working Conditions

  • This role is intended to be located at the Deriva Headquarters office in Charlotte, NC.

  • This is an in-person position with flexibility to work remotely once per week
