Senior Interior Systems Engineer

Location: Southfield, MI

Pay Rate: $78.00-$84.00/hour

Duration: 12-Month Contract (Extension Possible)

We are seeking a skilled Senior Interior Systems Engineer to support the design and development of advanced automotive interior components. This role is ideal for engineers experienced in build-to-print systems, injection molding, GD&T, and manufacturing-driven design.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead development of interior components and systems (IP, door panels, consoles, headliners, trim)
• Design and release components from concept through production (SOP)
• Create and manage technical specifications, timelines, and engineering documentation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, and suppliers
• Ensure designs meet DFM (Design for Manufacturability) standards and cost targets
• Apply expertise in injection molding, compression forming, lamination, and material selection
• Support product launches, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 4+ years of experience in automotive interior systems design & development
• Strong knowledge of hard trim, soft trim, and interior component systems
• Proficiency in CAD tools (CATIA V5/V6 preferred)
• Experience with GD&T, DFM, and manufacturing processes
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality designs in fast-paced environments
