Assembly Technician

Assembly Technician | The Shyft Group, Inc. | Charlotte, MI (SV)

Regular Employee | Hourly Non-Exempt | $18.20 - 22.00

What you'll do:

SCOPE OF POSITION: Assembles metal products, partially or completely, working at a bench or on shop floor by performing duties assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

* Read and interpret assembly prints and bills of material.

* Gathers and positions materials and parts according to Assembly documentation or verbal instruction.

* Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners.

* Uses and operates various pneumatic, electrical, and manual hand tools.

* Reports any issues with product or equipment to department lead.

What you need to be successful:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

* Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

* Ability to read and execute instructions as found on blueprints.

* Ability to perform basic math and ability to read a tape measure down to a 1/16th .

* Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. without assistance.

* Ability to work with arms above head.

* Ability to work from ladders.

* Ability to safely use hand, air, pneumatic, and power tools, and machinery.

* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
