This position will support Air Force cryptographic modernization efforts by helping identify capability gaps, assess vulnerabilities in COMSEC and cryptographic systems, and develop recommendations, requirements, and strategic plans for modernized solutions across air, ground, space, cyber, and weapons platforms. The position also supports roadmap development, architecture and requirements documentation, compliance tracking, fielding strategies, and leadership briefings related to enterprise cryptographic modernization

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Participate in meetings, progress reviews, integrated teams, working groups, etc.
  • Draft, edit, and review a variety of correspondence and documentation, primarily using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Provide information management, records management, scheduling functions, and meeting/conference support.
  • Prepare briefing/training materials and present briefings/trainings.
  • Liaise and coordinate with personnel at all levels inside and outside the organization.
  • Provide awareness of new/evolving requirements and recommendations for integration.
  • Provide support for planning, programming, tracking, and financial execution.
  • Prepare information papers, point papers, background papers, and staff studies.

Task-Specific Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis and develop recommendations, with Government oversight and approval, regarding the requirements of mission-critical tactical systems employed across a wide range of air and ground-based systems. Covered systems include current airborne platforms (e.g., F-15, F-22, F-35, KC-46, C-17, VC-25, MQ-9, WASP, etc.) and may include planned/future airborne platforms; ground communications systems such as ABMS, TDC, and BLOS; and crypto-capable radios including JTRS, PRC-117, and LMR devices.
  • Provide HQ CCC with research, analysis, and recommendations to mitigate vulnerabilities documented as capability gaps in Task 2 and from other sources outside the contractor. Research shall be guided by directives from higher headquarters, NSA, and other agencies involved in cryptographic management or COMSEC.
  • Research and analyze capability gaps such as bandwidth, SWaP, net readiness, and other warfighter-identified gaps through interviews, site visits, and analysis of previous studies conducted by other Agencies or Services, when applicable.
  • Conduct document reviews (e.g., CBA, ICD, Technology Readiness reports, and threat assessments) to map overarching requirements to identified capability gaps.
  • Analyze validated capability gaps and recommend requirements that may be used to develop or obtain a material solution. Perform gap analysis using methods such as Study Plans, Study Guidance, and Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) to evaluate potential solutions to fulfill requirements or eliminate capability gaps.
  • Recommend the alternative(s) that provide the most timely and effective elimination of the stated vulnerability and improve deployed warfighters' cryptographic capability.
  • Document results in an RSR, SPR, or AFRRG briefing, and incorporate Air Force leadership recommendations into the CDD or selected pathway Requirements Document.
  • Analyze previous projects under Algorithm Transition efforts and those entering a new phase.
  • Analyze potential modifications and alternative solutions, and provide written or verbal recommendations, as requested by the Government, to address capability gaps and develop a fielding plan to mitigate identified cryptographic gaps.

  • Active TS clearance with SCI/SAP eligibility.
  • Minimum of 3 years of comprehensive experience managing the full lifecycle of DoD operational requirements, including analysis, validation, and documentation of capability gaps and requirements within JCIDS.
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in initiating and processing configuration changes to fielded systems affecting form, fit, function, or interface (F3I) through the submission, review, and approval stages of the Air Force AF Form 1067 modification process.
  • Demonstrated expertise leading and directing comprehensive Capabilities-Based Analyses (CBA) to identify and validate critical capability gaps, and providing expert oversight for formal Analyses of Alternatives (AOA) to deliver data-driven recommendations that inform strategic investment decisions and shape future operational frameworks.
  • Minimum of 2 years of advanced staff experience planning, organizing, and negotiating effectively with cross-functional teams using TMT or other staff coordination standards, document reviews, program updates, and background papers to drive adoption of critical recommendations.
