Salary: The budgeted salary range for the position is $55,000 to $64,000. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including equivalent years in rank, training, and field or discipline; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs.

Position Summary
The Visiting Research Associate I provides oversight for developing, implementing, and coordinating research and educational programs in behavioral and mental health for target audiences, including pediatric and perinatal health care providers. This position must be dependable, well-organized, self-motivated, adaptable, and technology proficient.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform surveys, interviews, observations or uses other methods according to established research protocols.
  • Prepare data for analysis and execute details of studies. Perform analysis and document results.
  • May conduct literature searches.
  • Order study supplies and maintain inventories.
  • Maintain detailed records of results and prepare written reports.
  • Maintain and process required paperwork.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
  • DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC DUTIES
  • Data collection of primary and secondary research data through various methods, surveys, focus groups, and interviews
  • Interpret research results from training surveys, needs assessments, and program evaluations related to training needs in behavioral health
  • Evaluate research and education needs, develop relevant programs, and identify topics and speakers in collaboration with leadership
  • Coordinate, schedule, promote, and document research dissemination, trainings, and events
  • Communicate with lecturers/trainers throughout planning to ensure required information is obtained, and pre/post event information and data collection is communicated
  • Arrange logistics and moderate live web-based and in-person events
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of research and education programs through surveys, feedback, and other methods
  • Outreach to engage participants in training and program services
  • Create research and educational materials such as presentations, handouts, and online resources, in addition to promotional materials for these events
  • Collect, manage, and report research training data
  • Stay up to date with current trends and best practices in pediatric and perinatal behavioral health research and education within the target audience
  • Prepare and submit Continuing Medical Education (CME), Maintenance of Certification (MOC), and Continuing Education Unit (CEU) applications for events
  • Coordinate exhibitions and sponsorship activities for external conferences
  • Use survey tools such as Qualtrics or REDCap to manage the registration process for seminars and events and gather feedback regarding future research trainings.
  • Document in REDCap Database; maintain training and research database
  • Contribute to research program evaluation and quality assurance
  • Create social media, website, and listserv training materials and announcements
  • Prepare reports about training and education including technical reports, summaries, and data visualizations for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


  • Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in mental health, public health, social services, education, or related field
    • Knowledge of fundamental research concepts, practices and procedures.
    • Entry level knowledge of research methods.


    Preferred Qualifications
    • Master's Degree in degree in mental health, public health, social services, education, or related field preferred
    • Experience working on a research project
    • Experience using database applications like REDCap, Qualtrics, R, STATA, etc.
    • Experience with social media, technology, and website management
