Summary

Under general supervision, assist in various administrative and data collection aspects of clinical research studies as part of the Community Neurotrauma Team in the Department of Neurosurgery's Center for Neurotrauma Research.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Collect required data from research participants, which might include performing clinical assessments (e.g., interview and questionnaire assessments of symptoms, neuropsychological tests of cognitive functioning) and coding data from patient records and qualitive interviews, and entering onto clinical research forms and into the computerized research database
  • Verify accuracy of bills and stipends
  • Generate survey materials to be sent to study participants and manage incoming survey data.
  • Under the direction of the study coordinator or principal investigator, assist in enrolling patients in educational and social intervention research studies. Review patient medical charts and contact patients to screen for study inclusion/exclusion criteria.
  • Provide general clerical support to thestudy team and investigators
  • Order and maintain log of stipend checks and/or gift certificates to be distributed to study participants.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge - Skills - Abilities
  • Knowledge of biology, chemistry, mathematics, documentation, and records management.
  • Data utilization, complex problem solving, critical thinking, resource management, and writing skills.
Qualifications

Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.

Minimum Required Education: High school

Minimum Required Experience: 1 year

Required Certification/Licensure(s): CITI training within 90 days of hire

Physical Requirements

Work involves light exertion transporting materials or equipment but not for sustained time.

Work Environment

Occasional exposure to dust, noise, temperature changes, or contact with water or other liquids. Work is performed in an environmentally controlled environment.

Sensory Acuity

Ability to detect and translate speech or other communication required. May occasionally require the ability to distinguish colors and perceive relative distances between objects.
