Job Summary


The Accountant 1 is responsible for supporting financial oversight, data management, and administrative operations related to workforce initiatives. This role involves reviewing financial documentation, processing vouchers, maintaining data tracking systems, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with established guidelines. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and effective collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities



  • Review and process vouchers for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with approved budgets
  • Analyze budget versus actual spending data and report variances
  • Develop and maintain tracking systems for materials and financial data
  • Perform data entry and conduct data quality control checks
  • Extract, analyze, and summarize data from databases and reporting systems
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical files
  • Format documents using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Assist with tracking legislative items, including bills and regulations
  • Support the planning, scheduling, and coordination of meetings and events
  • Monitor shared email inboxes and draft professional correspondence
  • Respond to inquiries, answer phone calls, and direct communications appropriately
  • Complete assignments within established deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality


Job Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, computer science, information systems, economics, statistics, mathematics, biostatistics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an office or administrative environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to conduct efficient and thorough online research
  • Experience working with electronic databases and data tracking systems


Work Experience



  • At least 2 years of professional experience in an office setting with responsibilities related to data management, financial processing, or administrative support
