Description

The Assistant Controller will perform a variety of accounting functions supporting the Controller, Sr. VP of Finance, and the Accounting Department as a whole. These duties require a considerable level of professional judgment and analytical ability.

Salary range: $95,000 - $150,000 DOE

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:



  • Assist in producing accurate and timely financial statements in a multi-company environment.
  • Assist in the month end closing and financial reporting process including maintaining the monthly closing calendar, account analysis and reconciliation.
  • Monitor balance sheet review, account reconciliations and variances between current year and prior year results.
  • Provide recommendations for proper accounting methods, policies and principles in accordance with GAAP.
  • Supervise members of the accounting team.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the accounting team to promote career development.
  • Review, approve and post journal entries.
  • Participate in the new ERP implementation.
  • Assist in year-end closing and interaction with outside auditors & tax preparers.
  • Assist in preparation of annual budgets for corporate items with the Financial Planning & Analysis team.
  • Work with shared service partner on issues related to financial statements and other requests.



Job Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • A minimum of seven to 10 years of accounting experience.
  • Industry experience is a plus but not required.
  • Significant experience with GAAP.
  • Working knowledge of Great Plains (preferred).
  • Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Good oral and written communications skills, detail orientation and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to occasionally travel as required.

  • This position will be performed in Bellevue, WA or Boise, ID.
