Position Overview

Interstate Assembly Systems is seeking a reliable and experienced Service Technician to join our team at our Surprise, Arizona location. This role is responsible for diagnosing, servicing, IMT service trucks, and custom lube trucks.

The Service Technician must bring strong mechanical ability, sound troubleshooting skills, and a working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Success in this role requires the ability to follow technical direction from the Shop Foreman and Technical Support Team, adapt quickly, and consistently produce quality work in a safety-focused shop environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on heavy-duty work trucks and integrated equipment, including cranes, welders, and air compressors.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems efficiently and accurately.
• Complete welding and fabrication work as needed to support repairs or modifications.
• Operate, test, and inspect cranes to ensure proper functionality and safety compliance.
• Service and maintain air compressors and other auxiliary equipment.
• Accurately document work performed, including labor, parts used, and detailed service notes.
• Follow all safety standards and regulations, including OSHA and DOT requirements.
• Communicate clearly with customers when necessary to explain repairs and recommend preventative maintenance.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience working on heavy-duty trucks or industrial equipment.
• Demonstrated experience with hydraulic systems, cranes, welders, and air compressors.
• Welding and fabrication experience (MIG, TIG, or stick) preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic information.
• Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in confined spaces as required.
• Certifications in crane operation, welding, or heavy equipment repair are a plus.
