We are looking for an
Assistant Treasurer/Assistant Branch Manager who will, under the supervision of the Branch Manager, plan, organize and administer all branch activities to effectively utilize and supervise all retail branch personnel to provide customers with quality customer service and bank services in conformance with established Bank policies and procedures. This is an on-site position with remote work by rare exception only.
How you will accomplish this:
- Under the guidance of the Branch Manager, supervise assigned branch personnel by:
- Ensuring the branch is adequately staffed with properly trained personnel
- Resolving personnel problems, particularly those of a routine nature
- Guiding and advising branch personnel in the more complex phases of their work
- Assisting in coordinating the activities of the branch with other departments
- Under the direction of the Branch Manager, assist in the administration of the branch sales plan. Ensure staff is adequately trained in sales and service of all bank products. Assist in developing internal programs to support branch sales. Help to measure progress towards sales goals and may conduct monthly sales or operational meetings.
- Assist the Branch Manager in maintaining responsibility for the administration of established bank policies and procedures and assure effective implementation of all changes in Policies and Procedures. Maintain and reinforce Bank security and adherence to all regulatory and compliance polices. Reinforce regulatory and sales training with all staff members.
- Function as back-up to Branch Manager in his/her absence:
- Based on review and understanding of policies and procedures, manage branch operations and staffing, making adjustments as needed using critical decision-making skills
- Perform comprehensive review of staffing, work planning and scheduling while demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in dealing with last-minute changes
- Utilize independent decision making and sound business judgement in researching and resolving more complex customer transactions and issues
- Make decisions on overdrafts and returns, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
- Function in a customer service capacity as dictated by business need. Based on experience and acumen, train and coach retail branch staff in bank products, services, policies and procedures.
- Reinforce overall branch customer service standards in keeping with bank goals and assist the Branch Manager in measuring and monitoring employees' performance towards these goals
- Assist in establishing the branch's reporting responsibilities to ensure effective communication of branch performance to the Branch Manager
- Utilize reports to evaluate branch productivity, align workflow, increase product sales and to assist the Branch Manager in making appropriate decisions to meet overall bank/branch goals
- Proficient understanding of IRA rules, regulations, and reporting. Knowledge of legal account titling and legal account setup, e.g. Trusts, UTMA, POA.
- Responsible for approving Medallion Guarantee following all regulatory and bank guidelines
- Ensure the Bank's appropriate physical appearance. Assist in implementing effective merchandising standards to sell and cross sell products to existing customers and maintain the Bank's image.
- Under the direction of the Branch Manager, work on bank-wide projects with other department leaders and team members
- Actively participate in representing the Bank in various community service projects. Maintain a leadership role, representing the Bank on a minimum of one board committee within the community we serve.
- Comply with all Bank policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
What you will bring to the role:
- High school diploma or associate degree with at least 5 years of banking experience and 3 years of that in a supervisory position; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated working knowledge of bank operations, products and services, policies and procedures, regulations and compliance
- Strong interpersonal, management, and team building skills
- Demonstrated decision making and general business skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong technology skills
- Ability to effectively train and coach direct reports
- Proven track record of sales referrals and successful in referrals of alternative products as needed
