YOU

As a Branch Purchasing Supervisor, you will leading the team responsible for all external branch purchasing needs, which directly impacts the growth and success of the company.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING(% of Time)

Manage and oversee purchasing team responsible for purchasing processes such as right sizing of raw material used in production, consumable supplies for office and operation support functions, and external contracts. Acts as the central point of contact for purchasing functions; collaborating with production, inventory control, production planning, maintenance, warehouse, inside sales, product management and marketing to solve issues and perform root cause analysis. (40%)

Locate, develop and secure relationships with vendors of Non-Product Related (NPR) items and services; including price negotiations, resolution of claims, vendor site visits and any other type of interaction with these NPR vendors to ensure the availability of these items and services specific to the ongoing needs of our facilities. All national account vendors will be managed with direction from our Home Office Purchasing Department. (20%)

Lead, motivate and direct the Purchasing team members using effective performance management techniques, including establishing expectations and goals, providing recognition and feedback, and addressing performance problems. Coach, encourage, and develop employees according to their unique interests and strengths. Empower employees to take responsibility for their career and performance. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback. Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members and the organization. (15%)

Ensure PIR (Purchasing Info Records) and vendor data is updated and accurate. Demonstrate the ability to manage daily improvement (MDI) in order to maintain, improve, and develop key department metrics. (10%)

Process Improvement and Lean Manufacturing. Lead projects to establish new processes as needed to ensure orders are fulfilled timely and efficiently. (10%)

Other duties as assigned. (5%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • 3 years' experience developing and implementing supply chain strategies that ensure stability and responsiveness to meet customer requirements for various markets; or equivalent combination of education and training.
  • 1 year of management or supervisor experience
  • 1 year of lean experience or comparable certifications

  • Attention to Detail: Is attentive to detail and accuracy, performs quality work, continuously looks for improvements, finds root cause of problems, owns/acts on problems, seeks opportunities to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to make decision and act. Able to proactively identify problems and implement solutions.
  • Self-Management / Prioritization: Ability to display a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner. Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Technical/Software: Microsoft Office knowledge with emphasis on MS Excel. (Pivot tables, v-lookups, queries, etc.)
  • Leadership: Ability to build consensus amongst one's peers in leadership. Ability to establish an effective, professional, and positive relationship with staff.
  • SST Inventory Policy Knowledge: Maintains a working knowledge and complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Work well with others and manage stress effectively. Display initiative and adaptability. Present ideas in an effective manner and use negotiation skills and diplomacy as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • APICS/ASCM Certification preferred
  • 2 years' experience with thorough knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, SAP preferred.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

This job requires 10% domestic travel.

Pay

$81,100 - $129,800 / year
